I have been a healthcare provider for over 20 years, helping people meet goals and live a fulfilling life. After years struggling with weight gain issues and indications that my health was going in the wrong direction, I finally found the answers. Not only did it not require deprivation and countless calorie counting or hours at the gym, but I began to change my relationship with food. I began to realize that I could control my health and that my weight gain was NOT inevitably part of aging.
I also found out that I could be satisfied and not feel so deprived and STILL lose weight!! After trying every diet under the sun, I realized I did not have to be hungry and constantly craving food. I learned that my past failures were not my fault. While I hated to go shopping or wear a bathing suit and had the constant reminder of my graveyard of clothes in my closet, I now started see the light at the end of the tunnel.
So, what changed for me?
My journey to health has been a process, one that has lead to finally see long-term results, satisfaction and confidence in myself. It is based on science and mindfulness. It is about balance and good habits while applying the latest from the nutritional and holistic fields.
So, if you have been struggling, I am here to say, that it is not your fault. The weight loss industry over the past 40 years really had it wrong. We just did not know better, but there are better answers now.
The science is clear and the key to losing weight is better understood. Not everyone has caught on, but I want to change that! Too many people struggle and they end up getting sick as a result. I was headed there too. It might not have happened in a month or two, but eventually, I would have been a statistic too.
I have too many dreams and aspirations to let that happen. I have goals to be there for my kids, try new things and fully participate in life!
Which leads me here. I get immense satisfaction and meaning from helping others. This lead to me forming "Get Better With Heather". Rather than wait for people to come to me when they are already sick and suffering from illness, I am on a mission to help people get healthy by arming them with the knowledge and skills needed to get better first!
With my personal weight loss experience and years helping people achieve their goals...I am now on a quest to help people who feel like I did, feeling like nothing works and frustrated. I am on a quest to help people achieve the most crucial aspect of living a fulfilling life and that is one of true health - connecting the mind, body and spirit.
